Camiel Borgman is the central character in this dark, malevolent fable. His arrival in the tree-lined avenues of an exclusive residential area is the beginning of a series of unsettling events around the carefully constructed facade of an arrogant, wealthy couple, their three children and the nanny.

In his typical absurdist, black comedic style, Dutch director Alex van Warmerdam delivers a dark parable about good versus evil, full of intruders, dogs and very polite and murderers. The viewer may wonder whether the rich family is punished for their luxurious lifestyle, but van Warmerdam leaves his film open to alternative interpretations.

N.B: Introduction by Thom van Lierop (language: Dutch), clinical psychologist/psychoanalyst.
