From age 16 and up Offensive use of language Violence
Martin Scorsese, 1990 146 minutes Robert de Niro, Ray Liotta, Joe Pesci, Lorraine Bracco, Paul Sorvino USA English 12 July 2017 Dutch

The true story of Henry Hill, a half-Irish, half-Sicilian Brooklyn kid who is adopted by neighbourhood gangsters at an early age and climbs the ranks of a Mafia family.

With his rise through the organisation, however, comes the dangers of violence, double-crosses, drug addiction and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

As much as its style, characters, and subject matter have become identified with its creator, Scorsese has said he never had a desire to make just another mob movie. Thanks to Francis Ford Coppola's THE GODFATHER, the Mafia don had become a mythic figure. Instead of following in Coppola's steps, Scorsese saw an opportunity to present the story of the common thieves and killers, the guys who follow the orders and carry out the day-to-day criminal tasks.

The screening of Sunday, July 23 at 12:00hrs can be combined with breakfast. Click here for more info about Sunday's Film Breakfast and reservations
