Jim Jarmush, 1980 75 minutes Chris Parker, Leila Gastil, John Lurie, USA English 1 February 2017 Dutch

Jarmusch’s low budget graduation film follows an ultra-cool jazz dude on his seemingly desultory way through a post-apocalyptic New York. The Film Academy thought it was ‘a waste of time’ – a spot-on summary of the film’s theme.

PERMANENT VACATION is Jim Jarmusch's first feature. It is a narrative, which follows two and a half days in the life of Allie Parker, a young wanderer with no home, no school, and no job. He has lived in all kinds of situations and with many different people - almost all of them exiles from the daily, working world.
